Terms of Service

The rules for using GravelGeeks, in plain language.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Agreeing to these terms

By using GravelGeeks you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms cover the website, the newsletter, the forum, the marketplace, route submissions and anything else we publish.

Who can use GravelGeeks

You must be 13 or older to use GravelGeeks, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you are under 18, use the site with a parent or guardian. You agree to give accurate information and to keep your account details secure.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post: forum posts, marketplace listings, routes, photos and descriptions. By posting, you give GravelGeeks a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize, share and promote that content on GravelGeeks and in our newsletter and social channels.

You confirm that you own or have permission to post everything you upload, including photos. We may edit, shorten, move or remove any content, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We are not obliged to publish anything.

Marketplace disclaimer

The Marketplace is a noticeboard. GravelGeeks is not a party to any sale, trade or agreement between buyers and sellers, and we do not inspect, hold, ship or guarantee any item. We make no promises about an item's condition, ownership, legality or whether a buyer or seller will follow through.

Buy and sell at your own risk, use your judgement, meet in safe public places and never send money to someone you do not trust. Report suspicious listings to hello@gravelgeeks.com and we will review them.

Routes, races and riding safety

Route descriptions, maps, distances, elevation figures, race dates and results are for information only. Conditions change constantly: roads can be closed, surfaces regraded, gates locked, water sources dry, and events cancelled or rescheduled. Always verify with the race organiser or land manager before you travel.

You ride at your own risk. Stay within your ability, wear a helmet, carry water, food, tools and a way to call for help, follow traffic laws and land access rules, and respect other road and trail users. GravelGeeks is not responsible for any injury, loss, damage or death arising from your use of a route, event or tip published on the site.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some links on GravelGeeks are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We also publish sponsored content and advertising. Sponsored content is labelled. Commissions and sponsorships never buy a positive review, and we say when we have not tested a product.

Acceptable use

  • Do not post spam, scams, affiliate-only listings or misleading advertising.
  • Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory or sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Do not scrape, overload or attempt to break the site, or use it to send unsolicited email.
  • Do not present GravelGeeks content as your own, or imply that we endorse you without permission.

Third-party sites

We link to news sources, route platforms, race organisers, retailers and social accounts we do not control. Their content and their privacy practices are their own responsibility, and their terms apply when you visit them.

Our content

The GravelGeeks name, logo, site design and our own written content belong to GravelGeeks. You may share links and short quotes with credit. Republishing whole articles or our branding requires written permission.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that it will always work, be error free, or that the information on it is complete or current. To the fullest extent the law allows, GravelGeeks is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to [PLACEHOLDER: liability cap]. Some places do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If you keep using GravelGeeks after a change, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER: governing state or country], and disputes will be handled in [PLACEHOLDER: court or county].

Questions about these terms: hello@gravelgeeks.com. Mailing address: [PLACEHOLDER: Mailing address].

Anything shown in orange is a placeholder for you to fill in before launch.
